Book Review: How to win friends and influence people
Review the book How to Win Friends and Influence People
A classic!
I first saw an old copy of this book on my father's small library when I was little - at the time I had no idea of the powerful ideas distilled in this book and despite pops recommendation that I took a read I always opted for other more "modern" books.
Only late in life, after my father had long passed away, did I understand much of the wisdom he himself had gotten from this precious little book.
It's all about the deep psychology involved at bringing wisdom into human relations.
Gems like "Seek to understand the other's point of view" seem like a banality to the unawakened mind, but truly hard to execute in critical situations.
Just like in meditation practice, one has to apply each one of these bits of wisdom, one at a time to every situation, every waking hour until it becomes second nature - and obviously for each rule you can go deeper and deeper and gain ever more powerful insights into human nature.
Beautiful book - recommend it vividly! Thanks for reading The Bookworms' Burrow! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.
